Your data, in plain words
What you give us. Your mobile number. Name, gender and email only if you add them (your name can also come from your chat). Your approximate city, worked out from your internet connection, never GPS. The WhatsApp chats you choose to upload, and the questions you ask about them.
Why we use it. To sign you in, to read your chats so we can answer your questions, and to keep your account and credits safe. Only the few messages needed for a question go to our AI provider, which is not allowed to train on them. During the beta, our team may review uploaded chats only to test and fix Baatcheet, and every review is logged.
What we never do. Sell your data or share it with advertisers. Train AI models on your chats. Use your chats for offers unless you switch on Personalised offers (off by default, only your own messages). Build a profile of the other person in your chat for ads.
Your control. See, correct or delete your data at any time. Delete one chat, or your whole account, from Settings. That also withdraws your consent, and it's as easy as signing up.
Questions or complaints. Contact us first. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

What you upload
A WhatsApp chat export you are part of. It contains other people’s messages, so upload only conversations you have the right to analyse, and use the results for yourself.
How it’s processed
We split the chat into messages, build a timeline, tags and a short summary, and index it so your questions find the right messages. Your chats and answers are visible only to your account. During the private beta, our team may open uploaded chats to test and fix the product; each time is recorded in an access log.
AI providers
Answers come from a model we host or from an AI API provider that may not train on your data. Only the few messages needed for a question are sent, never the whole chat.
Offers (optional)
Off by default. Only if you turn on Personalised offers in Settings, Baatcheet notes things you yourself mention wanting to buy, from your own messages only, to show offers inside the app. The other person’s messages are never used for this. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers. Turn it off any time.
Analysis of the chat
To answer your questions, Baatcheet tags the conversation (relationship, mood, topics) and describes how each person communicates in it (who starts conversations, reply speed, topics). This is used only inside your account and for the beta review described above.
Location
Your approximate city is worked out from your internet connection (IP address) when you sign in. No GPS and no location prompt. We keep only the city and state, not the IP address.
Keeping and deleting
Your data stays until you delete it. Delete a conversation, or your whole account, from Settings at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent; we keep only a minimal, pseudonymous record that a deletion happened.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or erase your data, withdraw consent (deleting your account does this), and nominate someone to act for you. Contact us first; if you’re not satisfied, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Age
Baatcheet is for people 18 and older.
